Our Teaching Philosophy
Students are encouraged to use natural talents, creativity and all forms of ‘intelligence’ as an alternative route to developing knowledge and understanding.
At the same time students benefit from specialised tutoring to develop essential literacy skills. Expectations are realistic and achievable to foster confidence, motivating students to strive for further success. Skills and knowledge therefore grow in a sequential and cumulative way.
We believe that students should also understand the process of learning. Students are provided with many opportunities to develop problem-solving and higher order thinking skills. Meaningful and motivational scenarios are used to promote understanding and are an essential aspect of our approach to teaching and learning.
